Stockholm, located in the Baltic Sea archipelago, is the capital city of Sweden and consists of 14 islands and over 50 bridges. The Stockholm metropolitan area has a population of more than 2.2 million, spread over 26 municipalities. Granted the European Green Capital Award by the EU Commission, Stockholm is made up of 30% parks and green spaces and 30% waterways.
